Dear Cardinal developers and users,

I am excited to release ShinyCardinal, a GUI version of Cardinal

ShinyCardinal is built as a standalone desktop app with a user-friendly interface. Download at: https://shinycardinal.sourceforge.io

It covers every step in MSI data analysis, powered by the versatile R package Cardinal, with new features like background noise removal, matrix peak removal, deisotoping, absolute quantification, data cropping, network analysis, and metabolite identification and export to METASPACE and other MSI software.

ShinyCardinal is a standalone desktop tool. Users do not have to separately install R or any R packages. No programming skills are required to run ShinyCardinal. Please check out our tutorial videos: https://www.youtube.com/@MSI_WIS/videos

ShinyCardinal is written in a modular manner, which allows developers to easily modify the source code to continuously improve the software’s capabilities and incorporate more features. Your feedback and contributions are warmly welcomed!

ShinyCardinal wouldn't be possible without the solid foundation laid by Cardinal. My heartfelt gratitude to the developers of Cardinal, especially to Kylie, for paving the way.

Best regards,

Yonghui Dong
