Hello,

It has been a while since we have sent an update so I ask for your patience in working through this newsletter.  I have lots of new developments and products to share with you.

We did start traveling again this past spring and are getting our sealegs under us again.  We are taking a short respite as we are preparing for a new addition to our family due any day now.  Our next scheduled show is the Dublin Irish Festival on August 5, 6, & 7.  Find out more here: https://dublinirishfestival.org/

Now for the exciting stuff.

We have developed a soprano recorder. It is based on (and geometrically identical) to the Aulos design, one of my favorite makes.  It has the same construction as our whistles, with a carbon body, an aluminum fipple, and an ebonite tip.  It is responsive throughout the entire range. Read more about it here: https://carbony.com/product/soprano-recorder/

We also have a new ultra-lightweight, two-piece version of our D flute with true intonation and close-fingered hole spacing using our extended chimneys. It weighs under 5 oz, half the weight of our Pratten reproduction. https://carbony.com/product/two-piece-flute-in-d/

On our Pratten reproduction D flute, we now offer a blackwood finish. This is accomplished by finishing the carbon layup with unidirectional fibers that run the length of the instrument. We offer this in both close-fingered spacing and standard spacing.

We are finally offering the lowest of all whistles. We are adding Low A, Low Bb, and Low B. Due to the finger stretch required of these instruments, we are exclusively building them with our close-fingered technology with extended chimneys.  Normal hands will be able to play these models with a standard piper's grip. Large hands may be able to play them without. The body splits in two, enabling different hand angles for playing comfort, and portability.

We now offer thumbhole options on all our whistles.  The top thumbhole voices the flatted 7th, and the bottom voices the minor 3rd. These are great options to make the instrument more chromatic.  If you don't see it as an option on our website, send me a note and we can add it.

It's great to be back at it and I am looking forward to hitting the road in August!
Thank you for your patience and continued support.
Happy whistling!

Rob

Hi Rob I am still way for a small sound sample of your low F whistle with standard holes and new mouth piece with air Dam . No hurry.
Thanks Bo Davis.
P.S.  I am enjoying my low D with close finger spacing and my new mezzo A
