Greetings,

We have our eight $100 winner for our weekly contest! Jim Hanks on a Carbony mezzo leading tone Ab whistle got 6 reactions/likes. You can watch the video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LH6_VzavNBQ

Jim wanted to share a little bit about himself:

I've been a musician in some capacity almost as long as I can remember. I started recording and releasing my own music in 2009 with 7 full-length albums so far. The most recent release had several whistle tracks included. Last July, I started the Flukutronic YouTube channel which has quite a bit of whistle content - lots of jazz covers and some originals. Coming to whistle so late, and with no background in Irish traditional music, I chose C as my "base" instrument, so I'm kind of ruined for ITM with its focus on D whistle. I'm amazed listening to practitioners of that style, but I've started several decades behind to ever catch up, so I'll just have to keep "doing my thing" trying to push the whistle in new directions. That's partly what drew my attention to Carbony - the innovations in new materials and designs to create new possibilities in tone and technique. My only one so far is an Ab with two thumb holes, a very versatile instrument that I feel like I'm still barely getting to know. It won't be the last though; I have my next one picked out so look for it on Flukutronic in a month or two.

Entries are now open for week nine.  Just make a video playing a Carbony instrument and either email it to me or directly post it on our Facebook page www.facebook.com/CarbonyCelticWinds you will be entered into a contest, the video with the most likes each week will win you a $100 voucher.

Pro tip: ask all your friends to like the video.

Also one of the best online whistle instructors had a go with my whistles and as today is my birthday, this video was one of the best presents I have ever received. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kz8Njs8MsZw

And a reminder on how Carbony Celtic Winds is operating during this unique time:

We are open for business, but to minimize exposure we are no longer giving factory tours or in-person instrument demonstrations.

We have suspended traveling to festivals, games, and shows until further notice.

We are continuing to make and sell instruments through our website, amazon, our distributors and retailers.

I know many of you were hoping to see me this spring and summer. It is always nice to be able to try instruments before buying and the Carbony booth was the ideal place for making your decision. In light of this; we will be offering free shipping worldwide (promo code: FSHP) on all orders and initiating the 30-day return policy on the date the instrument arrives at your door instead of the purchase date.  This provides you a no-risk opportunity to try the instrument as if you were at my booth at your local festival.

We also now have DHL courier delivery for international orders and ask about having the duty prepaid to get the instrument to you with no delay.
