Black carbons (BC) like soot and charcoal consists all of more or less ordered graphene sheets. According to its electron exchange and adsorption properties BC is very helpful in waste water treatment and for sustainable soil improvement in agroculture. The soil and waste water microbes like BC as a habitat just because of these properties. By oxidative activation these properties of BC may even increased. Hence I see no problem to take a helpful use of BC in these fields
