" Failure to prove and measure the additionality and durability of CDR associated with a PCS pathway will render the pathway non-viable."

" The long-term environmental impacts and additionality effects associated with gigaton-scale CDR by PCS will be challenging to identify and measure through field observations alone. Yet these effects are critical to informing risk-benefit decisions and confirming CDR additionality. Models, in conjunction with field observations, are essential to help resolve critical uncertainties about local and far-reaching environmental effects over different time horizons, and to determine CDR additionality."

If not measurable, then not viable?
