Voluntary carbon markets are projected to grow to a $50 billion market in the next eight years and provide an important platform to achieve net-zero climate targets. How can VCMs be shaped to help foster carbon removal while ensuring rigor, accuracy, and accountability in the amount of carbon being removed from the atmosphere? 

A working group convened by the Carbon Business Council offers a pathway forward in this white paper with the intent to expedite the responsible growth of the VCM and address impediments and challenges.
