This is a major update of the main Car9 G model.
The model has been split into two parts with this upload due to size constraints and to provide more flexibility and control. The actual car models will now be kept on their own and the "workshop" will be uploaded separately. The workshop is intended to provide a repository for all the individual components being used or being considered for use in the development of the Car9 models. It will also contain the workbench and the inspirational posters. All this material is presented in Layer0 and positioned not to interfere with the actual car model under construction. This allows the user to include this model directly in their car model if they choose.
There have been numerous changes to the model and I will try to produce a better revision history going forward. Once we get to a version 1.0 things will be much more strict about keeping track of changes.
In summary:
- added some fuel cells and moved the rear hoops to accommodate that.
- made a seat for the driver, a simple Kirkey model.
- added a floor.
- modified the engine bay bracing for more room and stiffness.
- improved the wheel models and made it easy to set offset.
- increased use of components for the frame to keep it symmetrical.
- corrected scaling issues with the driver.
- reduced polygon counts in some components, especially the coilovers.
- removed diagonals under driver seat, will use floor for bracing.
- corrected many little issues in the layering.
There will be some more updates soon on the car9g.devel model.
Major issues in progress are:
- the rear suspension
- firewall, footwell, steering and pedals
- diff support and driveshaft tunnel.
