I was at the Anaheim colloquim where several people mentioned the
benifits of using software packages for providing APA compliant
formatting etc. Does anyone have any experience with these packages?
Can you make a recommendation? I don't know why you would actually
need it. When you get the format straight once, you've got it made!

Darryl:

I was Barnes and Noble tonight using a gift card along with my
membership discount and a special 15% off sale they were having. I
found the item there retailing for $48. By the time I redeemed by
discounts and giftcard the software cost me $8 out of pocket. I loaded
it on my PC tonight without problems, but have not had a chance to test
drive it. Anyway, if Capella is charging more than $50.00 for it, they
are gouging us.

I will let you know what I think of the software once I try it.

Hi Darryl:

I use Reference Point APA formatting software available from here:

http://www.referencepointsoftware.com

Be advised that none of these are foolproof and exact. Each of us
should REALLY know APA inside and out! I recommend a SPIRAL BOUND copy
of APA 5th Ed. Keep it handy!

All best,
Carl Puckett

Interesting growth rates, yes Capella is in a good niche market
amongst other things.

Anyway the software I am referring to is the APA Style Helper 5.0.

Hope this helps.
