BirdLife South Africa has a vacancy for a qualified, dedicated and dynamic Landscape Conservation Programme Manager.
This is a demanding role and will require a multi-skilled person to oversee the implementation of relevant landscape-level conservation projects focused on securing sites and habitats for South Africa’s most threatened terrestrial birds and biodiversity. The Landscape Conservation Programme Manager also must manage the programme’s staff involved in and responsible for diverse projects spread across South Africa
The ideal candidate would have a minimum of 3 - 5 years of managerial experience in a related conservation field (e.g. extensive knowledge of biodiversity stewardship mechanisms and the declaration of Protected and Conservation Areas), have an appropriate qualification and strong background in the natural sciences, be strategic and innovative, display strong networking skills, good leadership and administration skills, and be a team player, with a passion for conservation.
