Hello hikers!
Weather is cooler and now it's time to get outdoors! Tuleyome has several upcoming hikes and trail construction dates planned.
November 20th - Berryessa peak trail construction. We're on the home stretch! The dirt work is largely done, and we're on to cutting brush to define the trail on the ridge. The brush is pretty small, since it was burned over by the Rumsey fire. We've
flagged the route and plan on getting the trail completed by May 2012. If you are interested in coming, RSVP to Andrew Fulks, yolo...@yolohiker.org. It's work, but the vistas, oak woodlands, and rock formations on the ridge are amazing to see. Finishing this trail will be the completion of one of the most ambitious public access projects in the region, but can only happen with your help!
November 27th - Long Canyon Loop Trail
Come work off the Thanksgiving weekend calories on a beautiful 10 mile loop through the Knoxville Ranch Public Lands. Meet at Winters
Community Park by the gazebo at 9am, located at Railroad Avenue and Main Street. We'll arrange carpools and arrive at the trailhead on Knoxville Road around 10:45am. We'll hike the loop, eat lunch along the way, and return to the trailhead between 3:30 and 4:30. Be prepared for the weather and bring plenty of water. Sara Sevy will be leading the hike.
Dec. 10th - Berryessa Peak trail construction, trip #2 of the 2011 fall season. Same as the trip above. Please RSVP!
Dec. 11th - Cache Creek Watershed hike. Location TBD. Redbud Trail or Judge Davis Trail. Sara Sevy will be leading this hike.
