Solution Developer – Professional Services

Our client is a major mobile application developer based in Montreal
Canada. They have been named one of Canada’s 50 Best Managed companies
numerous times and are one of Montreal top 15 employers. Their Toronto
office is located in the core of downtown. This position is a 3 month
contract to start.

Position Overview & Main Responsibilities

As a Solution Developer, you will be part of the team responsible for
the implementation and integration of solutions with our customers. We
are looking for someone who has experience developing on the Brew
Platform. You will be assigned to work on solution development
projects that deliver or enhance our clients services to their
broadband service provider partners.
Provide programming to specifications in object oriented languages
Contribute to solution analysis, deliver database design and
development
Configure our clients products to follow specifications set forward
by a project
Synchronize delivery of technical components across functional areas
Support process, data and object modeling in a variety of
application and database
environments
Contribute to systems architecture analysis, design, development,
and enhancements
Participate in the development of project plans and Statements of
Work
Offer technical input to risk analysis and change control
Develop and maintain technical documentation
Interact with customers as required, to provide technical project
support
Through tight execution of assigned tasks, help keep projects on
time, on budget & within
scope
Take action on issues of non-compliance in quality
Liaise with the technical solution team over the course of the
project
Required Competencies and Qualifications
A University degree or equivalent experience
Experience developing on the Brew Platform is a must
4+ years relevant Industry-specific experience as developer,
developing enterprise Internet
solutions
Experience in using most of the following programming skills:
JavaScript, Java, HTML, Python,
Perl, PHP, Shell & SQL, Object Oriented programming, web-services
(XML, SOAP)
Familiarity with distributed environments—UNIX (Linux), middleware,
networks, web
technologies, and Windows network-aware applications
Ability to execute on a variety of development related tasks—web and
database programming,
system programming, system administration and configuration
Solid troubleshooting and analysis skills
Capacity to work under minimum supervision
Good organization and time management skills, with the ability to
work in a high-pace,
deadline-driven environment with shifting priorities
Solid communication skills, both in verbal and written form (strong
English is required, French is
a definite asset)
Solid external technical customer facing experience
Team orientation with excellent interpersonal skills and a creative
drive to produce outstanding
results
Assets include:
o Knowledge of XHTML and CSS
o Exposure to digital imaging and illustration with Adobe Photoshop
o Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, and Subversion controls
o Experience with ActiveX and COM technologies, and with Windows MFC/
ATL framework
