Destroy image of Ensenada for investors

The decision by the Mayor of Ensenada Enrique Pelayo Torres to order
the closure of the Costa Azul regasification plant for Sempra Energy,
was a blow to efforts to attract investment to Ensenada and Baja
California said the President of the Coordinating Council of Ensenada
Hector Contreras Luengas.

The action taken to close to Sempra generated a completely negative
image not only in the state but in the country and the world, now
questioned as a company allowed an investment of 2 thousand 500
million dollars and is now intends to close.

It is a grave impact on Baja California and Ensenada has special
problems due to lack of good jobs and investments that had driven away
in the process.

The Mayor of the city took away any argument to promote the city of
Ensenada as a safe destination for investment, while the municipal
government like this as competition out of the city and all of Baja
California.

There is concern about the situation in Mexicali, Tijuana, Tecate and
Rosarito, about the image that broke the Mayor, who had to be a
promoter of investment, but I do not see with that position.

Waste Disposal for being unilateral took everyone by surprise, just
had met Thursday with officials from Sempra and all were naive and
trusting, because no one believed they could make an action like this.

On Monday there will be emergency meetings to establish a state
positions that we know will be of Refusal.

It was a unilateral management as one of the requirements will be to
thoroughly investigate this issue, find out what interest there is in
this and punish those responsible.
