Pap Staining

We are having trouble with our cytospins having air dry artifact. Some
are fluids that have been fixed in saccomanno, how can this have air
dry artifact?

We have tried numerous different ways to process these cytospins, yet
the staining is not consistent. We are even using two different kind
of cytospins, a shandon and a sakura. Still, some look good and some
look bad.... We cannot make any since of this.
