Clean out your old kit for kids

Hey all party people. 

My race team Bateman's is running a fundraiser this month for kids with serious medical challenges.

From now until May 30, they're collecting CLEAN, unwanted cycling kit at City and Road (960 Bathurst). Think jerseys, bibs, jackets, arm warmers — branded or unbranded (just no gloves or socks). Then on May 31, we’ll be hosting a pop-up kit sale during regular business hours.

Here are the details:  

• $5 per item (any item!)

• Cash only

• No inventory, no stress — just an old fashioned rummage, grab, and go

• All proceeds go directly to The Darling Home for Kids

Why this matters:
The Darling Home for Kids provides high-quality respite, residential, and hospice palliative care for children with medical complexities and life-limiting conditions. These are kids who face immense challenges every single day — and their families often experience enormous emotional, physical, and financial strain.

Wheels — the cycling community’s long-standing fundraising initiative for Darling Home, has made a real difference. Over the past decade, funds raised have supported everything from a wheelchair-accessible playground, to respite bedroom renovations, a therapeutic sculpture garden, a clubhouse for the kids, and even a fully accessible van. Every dollar counts, and every item you donate or buy will help support these vital programs.
