No biking in Magwood Park

Hey goons,
Remember how the last few times we have ridden through the trails in Magwood Park we have been yelled at and told no bikes are on the trail. Apparently, it’s true. This is the sign at the entrance to the trails and it appears that there is a bylaw to this effect. I always thought that this was BS made up by angry dog walkers, and there was no truth to it, but frankly, I have no desire to ride my bike where I am not allowed and piss people off. I for one will be staying out of these trails in the future, which is kind of a pity.
A friendly older gentleman told me where the sign walls and explained politely that there are rare plants and animals in this area, and the cycle is in the positive note meticulously respectful of this. Apparently the sign does get taken down from time to time which might be why we have not ever seen it before.
In any event, that you have it… No bikes on Deadly Cross no. 4

Yeah…there was always 1 sign in an odd spot, and it certainly was not obvious. I don’t know that we ever got yelled at, maybe once or twice…nothing compared to down by the water and never enough to avoid riding the 4th and hidden cross (Enter The Double Dragon). Maybe a night-cross only, and in the off season when plants are sleeping.

Yeah, I won’t ride in there at all any more now I know it’s prohibited. There are enough legit great places to ride that I don’t need to give anti-cyclists something else to complain about

To honest-we’ve been getting friction over years. But we’ve been pretty grateful to share the trails, groom them when able and we have done our best not scare the heck out of people while shredding softly.
What can you do…. the memories are ours to hold on to—-and that’s ok goons😉
