Hi all. I've received a lot of questions about the Ride for Reconciliation this year and our fearless leader, Michael R suggested I mention it here (thanks friend).
On Saturday June 18th a number of us are riding 215km to the historical site of one of Canada's first residential schools in Brantford. The place is a nightmare but we are doing it to raise money and awareness of Ontario's recent history of residential institutions (to call them a school is an insult to schools).
This year we are raising money for the Anishnawbe Health Foundation. The foundation provides indigenous-led health services within our community. This is especially important because many indigneous people have had terrible experiences within our provincial health system. Our fundraising page is in the link above.
Thanks for reading. If you have questions or are interested in joining, feel free to shoot me a line.
Have pity on me if you see me on the days after June 18th because I've mostly been mountain biking and this much road riding is going to HURT.
