CUPA Members,
Please see the following message below from a few local ultimate players on ways to help or ask for help during the COVID-19 pandemic. Full details here: https://bit.ly/513ULTYCOVID19.
Ultimate friends,
The past few weeks have seen a lot of change and we're all navigating a new (hopefully temporary) normal. We may not be able to play ultimate right now, but we're still a community that cares for each other. If you find yourself in a position of need (loss of job, need for social interaction, short on food, etc) please reach out for help. We can't guarantee to meet the need but we promise to pool our resources and help as best we can. For simplicity, we made two forms for anyone who needs something, or anyone interested in possibly helping out someone from our community.
**If you are in need of any support, please complete this form.
**If you are able and willing to help someone in the ultimate community, please complete this form.
If you request it, we will make every attempt to keep your request confidential. Please keep in mind we are individuals organizing mutual aid while still working and taking care of our families. We will be tapping into the larger community to help meet any needs.
Examples of how we may be able to help each other:
1. A teammate works in the restaurant industry and lost their job. They need assistance making their next rent payment.
2. One of our friends is a nurse, pulling double shifts. A food delivery would greatly help between shifts.
3. Someone has a compromised immune system and needs help getting groceries.
4. You're having a hard time being so isolated and you'd love a phone call or video chat.
How it will work:
1. If you need/want help, fill out the form for assistance.
2. If you can help, fill out the form saying what you're willing and able to do.
3. Once/if we receive any requests for help, we'll reach out directly to those who offered their support (instead of spamming everyone).
4. We'll keep track of everything that happens. Hopefully we can make at least one person's life a little easier right now.
We also included a list of local resources at the bottom of this email. If you have any questions feel free to reach out.

Disclaimer: Please note, this is not meant to replace other forms of assistance and we are not a formalized group. We are fellow ultimate players hoping to minimize stress and provide any support we can within this community. There are many community organizations that can help for more long-term needs, and we have included some of them in a document.
