to Cincinnati Ultimate Players Association - Public Announcements

While we haven't been playing or planning any ultimate in a few months, I wanted to share some announcements from CUPA:
  • In lieu of fees you'd normally be putting towards ultimate this summer, we are asking that you would consider donating to a local organization, Boy & Girls Clubs of Greater Cincinnati. We have chosen them because we support their mission to create a safe, healthy, and fun environment for kids to reach their full potential, especially those who need it most. Donate here: https://bgcgc.org//donations/
  • Our Womxn's Committee recently renamed to the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee (DEI) to acknowledge our efforts to address race, gender, and socioeconomic status, and the intersections of these identities, in order to provide equitable opportunities and experiences for everyone in our area. We're always looking for new members for this committee (and all of our committees) to help continue this effort. You don't have to be a board member to join, learn more here!
  • As part of the pledge recently made by CUPA, the DEI committee is hosting a Cincinnati Area Ultimate Racism Equity Discussion over Zoom about how racism is perpetuated in ultimate and in our community. This will be on July 28, 7-9pm. All are welcome and encouraged to join in! RSVP here: https://forms.gle/74pD98PSAmnavemk7
  • Mike Kaylor is moving to the UK and would like the opportunity to (safely) say goodbye to the CUPA community he has worked with for so many years. Save the date for a Zoom call on Thursday, July 23, starting at 7pm. I will communicate a Zoom link closer to the date!
  • Board Member Elections are coming up this fall. CUPA & the DEI Committee are working to grow diversity and inclusivity in our ultimate community and at all levels of our organization. We encourage interested leaders - especially those who reflect diversity of gender, race, and socioeconomic status - to get involved and join the board. Contact us at in...@cincinnatiultimate.org to learn more about opportunities to make an impact!

Looking forward to seeing everyone on the field, hopefully soon!
