1)  SEP ELISA Workshop
Tomorrow, Friday, Jan 15th is the last day to sign up for SEP¹s ELISA
workshop.  Details of the workshop are below.

2) Imagine Tomorrow
Imagine your students getting checks for $5,000 in cash<rewards for their
ideas to address the world's energy problems. In less than six months, a
team of Washington high school students will win that prize money in Imagine

3) WSTA Conference ­ Flyer Attached
The Washington Science Teachers Association conference is coming soon to
Jackson High School in Everett, WA.
March 12 Pre-conference: WA State LASER Exploring Instructional Materials
March 13-14 Conference: Workshops, Speakers, Exhibition Hall

We provide you with the forum to learn from those ³in the know² and start
discussions about science education, from the broad perspective of state
standards to the specific strategies and techniques proven effective in
instruction.

4) Intel Foundation K-12 Education Grants
The Intel Foundation has a strong interest in supporting K-12 programs that
deliver the kind of educational opportunities that all students will need to
prepare themselves to succeed in the 21st century. Intel vigorously supports
programs that advance science, math, and technology education, particularly
for women and under-served populations. Public schools located in Arizona,
California, Massachusetts, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, or Washington are

5) Toshiba 7-12 Science and Math Grant
The Toshiba America Foundation provides small (up to $5,000) and large (over
$5,000) grants to math and science teachers (grades 7-12) in public and
private schools. Funds are given to teachers who engage students in positive
and challenging learning experiences. Past successful grantees used the
students' natural curiosity and enabled them to frame their own scientific
