Dear AguaClara Alumni and Friends,

We are excited about our latest endeavor to build a non-electric water
treatment plant in Agalteca, Honduras, a rural community approximately
1.5 hours from Tegucigalpa. The plant will provide safe drinking water
for 2,160 people. The total project budget is $66,330, which includes:
feasibility study, design, plant operator training course, community
education, and construction. Agalteca has committed $11,000 in
construction labor and materials. We have committed to raising the
additional $55,330.

In an effort to reach our fund raising goal by September 1st, we are
reaching out to AguaClara members, alum, and fans. You will find a
copy of the AguaClara newsletter, with additional details concerning
Agalteca and other AguaClara updates, attached to this email. Please
take the time to look over the newsletter and consider contributing to
the project. We would also greatly appreciate it if you shared with
your friends, family, and/or employers this opportunity to help build
a water treatment plant where none exists.

The Agalteca treatment plant will be built with over 6000 bricks. As
the total cost of the project is $66,330, we find it helps us to
visualize each $10 increment as one brick closer to our goal. Agalteca
has committed 1100 bricks, and we are gathering 5533 bricks. How many
bricks can you add to the plant? Donations can be sent to: AguaClara/
220 Hollister Hall/ Cornell University/ Ithaca, NY 14853 in the form
of a check made out to Cornell University, or you may contribute
directly at the AguaClara website:

Thanks for all you do to make the world a better place,

The AguaClara Team
