Hello,
Due
to the hard work of past and present members of the AguaClara team,
this has arguably been the most successful semester for AguaClara to
date. The Agalteca plant construction is complete and the initial
results have been very promising. Initial tests have shown that the
plant has been able to decrease 40 NTU water down to 1 NTU and 375 NTU
raw water down to less than 5 NTU. The
official inauguration of the Agalteca plant is scheduled for June 18,
2010.
The biggest news came less than two weeks ago when
the AguaClara Chemical Dosing team competed in the National Sustainable
Design Competition on April 24-25. Their system is designed to add
varying amounts of alums to untreated water based on varying flow
rates. The Chemical Dosing Team came home with an EPA P3 Award and a
$75,000 grant! Congratulations to the Chemical Dosing Team.
On April 29th the newly redesigned website went
live. It has tons of information on what the AguaClara team is up to,
including pictures of the new Agalteca plant, recent news, and upcoming
events. Check it out at

Thank you for continuing to support AguaClara.
