Himes Statement on Firing of Pam Bondi

 

WASHINGTON, DC — Congressman Jim Himes (CT-04), Ranking Member of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, today released the following statement:

“Pam Bondi’s tenure as Attorney General will be remembered for her unprecedented politicization and weaponization of the Department of Justice. Whether by illegally obscuring the Epstein files, mass firing apolitical staff, or directing the Department of Justice to target Donald Trump’s political opponents, Bondi has been unfailing in her acquiescence to Trump over the Constitution. It seems that her firing has more to do with the failure of her many abusive investigations, something the President will learn was not about Bondi and more about the rule of law.”
