(Hartford, CT, 2/28/2026) — The Connecticut Palestine Alliance (CTPA) strongly condemns Israel’s and the Trump administration’s blatantly illegal, naked war of aggression against Iran. Today’s unprovoked military attack on Iran, and the assassination of its leader, threatens to drag the entire world into military conflict and economic misery. The United States must find an immediate off-ramp to deescalate the situation, and take actions to bring peace and justice to the region and the world, such as complete withdrawal from the region entirely. This unilateral attack on Iran by the Trump administration lays bare the embarrassing failure of Congress, and the supposedly oppositional party, to formally declare war or pass any resolution on the matter at all. It must always be noted that this military action may be an effort to distract the American public attention away from the Trump-Epstein files, which are beginning to expose the Epstein class governing supra-structure, above our ostensibly popularly elected representative government.
We also call for peace in the broader region by formally exposing and declaring Israel’s nuclear weapons arsenal, and starting the process of denuclearization of Israel as a larger process to rid the entire world, including the United States, of all nuclear weapons. In particular, we must emasculate the nuclear blackmail that Israel is reportedly employing against the Trump administration, as Israel did in the 1973 war. This nuclear blackmail reportedly entails Israel threatening to use its nuclear weapons against Iran if the United States does not conventionally bomb and attack Iran, in effect forcing the United States into war it does not really desire. Only by starting the process of denuclearizing Israel can this nuclear blackmail and leverage against the United States be eliminated.
Israel’s active genocide against Gaza, even after the misnomered “ceasefire” has even touched us personally and directly here in the state of Connecticut. After the October 2025 non-“ceasefire” in Gaza, the Israeli military killed the direct brother of a leader of the Farmington Valley American Muslim Center (FVAMC). The state of Israel had already killed more than 186,000 people, the majority of whom were civilian women and children, in Gaza since October 7, 2023, or 3.4% of the entire Gazan population, by various studies published in the medical journal The Lancet. Israel had already turned Gaza into an open-air concentration camp before October 7, 2023, and has since conducted an intentional ethnic cleansing campaign. We continue to advocate for respite for all Palestinians, addressing the occupation, apartheid, and genocide, before and after October 7, 2023. Immediate, unimpeded access to food, shelter, and medical aid must be ensured for Gaza, and reparations for reconstruction must be provided by Israel and its accomplices, including the United States. In particular, the approximately 60,000 mobile homes and 200,000 tents blocked at the Rafah border must be allowed into Gaza. We also encourage the United States to allow the United Nations (U.N.) to use its charter to conduct a “peace enforcement” operation in Gaza to save the lives of the Gazans through U.N. General Assembly approved a multi-nation military force, U.N.R.W.A., W.H.O., etc, not the Trumpian falsely named “Board of Peace”. The “Board of Peace” is a colonial project that uses and accepts the genocide and ethnic cleansing of Gazans to achieve its goals. The United States should rejoin the World Health Organization (W.H.O.) to allow them to monitor the recovery from mass starvation.
The Connecticut Palestine Alliance has weekly vigils against the genocide and starvation of the Gazans in front of hospitals in New Haven and Hartford, CT, specifically Yale New Haven Hospital (YNHH), Saint Francis Hospital (Hartford, CT), and UCONN Health Hospital (Farmington, CT). In addition, we are calling on all Connecticut elected officials to co-sign an open letter to President Trump calling for a true immediate and permanent cease-fire here: https://palestineCT.com/officials .
We call upon all public and private entities with investment portfolios, especially the state of Connecticut’s Treasury and public unions, to divest from the state of Israel and related surveillence corporations (Palantir) because of Israel’s continued genocide, apartheid, and occupation. These divested funds must be redirected back into Connecticut to serve the urgent needs of the state, rather than into Israeli military and spyware companies in particular. We call for an end to Israeli political and intelligence interference in the domestic United States, including in the training of American police and its relationships with organized crime. We call for a complete arms embargo against Israel, the right of return for all Palestinians, and an end to the occupation of all Palestinian lands, including Al-Quds (East Jerusalem) and the Al-Aqsa Mosque complex, which is under threat of destruction by the current Israeli government and its ideology. Only with progress towards a binational, single state solution, with equal rights and self-determination for all people, is peace and justice possible!
