NEW BRITAIN, Conn. – Central Connecticut State University will host a winter commencement ceremony on Saturday, Dec. 16, at 1 p.m. in Welte Auditorium on the Central campus. The snow/inclement weather date will be Sunday, Dec. 17. The ceremony also will be streamed live on the Central website.
The ceremony will honor students who are slated to complete their graduation requirements by the close of the Fall 2023 semester or the Winter Intercession. Students who completed their requirements over the summer are also eligible to participate.
Dr. Richard Fichman, a 1974 graduate of Central, will address the graduates. Dr. Fichman is pioneer in the field of ophthalmology, director at the Fichman Eye Center, and one of the country’s leading refractive surgeons. The university also will present Dr. Fichman with an honorary doctorate.
