United Way of Greater New Haven kicks off Read Across America by bringing local authors and community volunteers to elementary schools! 
 
NEW HAVEN, CT – Join United Way of Greater New Haven as we kick off Read Across America! 
Starting on Monday, March 2nd, United Way will be coordinating reading events across 15 elementary schools in 6 towns. Come and witness the start of this celebration of literacy by visiting schools in New Haven, Guilford, and West Haven. During the first two weeks of March, we will be hosting over 250 community volunteers and even local authors who will be reading their own stories! After every classroom reading, United Way will donate 2-3 books to help teachers build their classroom library. Nearly 700 books will be donated over the course of Read Across America.
