TOMORROW: COMPTROLLER SEAN SCANLON JOINS CONNECTICUT CITIZENS' ASSEMBLY PARTICIPANT SELECTION EVENT
(HARTFORD, CT)—Tomorrow at 11:00 a.m., Comptroller Scanlon will join Connecticut Lottery officials, Connecticut Conference of Municipalities Executive Director & CEO Joe DeLong, and academic partners from Yale University and the University of Connecticut for the official participant selection event for the Connecticut Citizens' Assembly on Property Taxes.
The event will mark the culmination of months of planning and outreach to create a representative group of Connecticut residents who will come together to examine and develop recommendations on the state's property tax structure.
Through a live lottery drawing conducted by the Connecticut Lottery Corporation, one ball will be drawn from a pool of 40 numbered lottery balls, each representing a full, demographically balanced group of 110 Connecticut residents. The winning ball will determine the Citizens' Assembly that will spend the coming months deliberating on property tax reform and delivering recommendations to policymakers.
