Just a quick note to the group that a Bridgeport Milling Machine has been donated to CT Hackerspace by a group of members. The machine is a project machine that requires assembly and set-up/adjustment. We are looking at scheduling a series of events focused on getting this machine assembled and ready to go. If you have as specific interest in this project, please reply to this post. Also please watch our website for scheduling of the various assembly and set-up events.

I have an interest in this workshop as it will help me refurbish mine in the future

I look forward to having a bridgeport at the space. I think this will be a great asset to us and to our cause.

I'd love to offer my assistance, but I don't know Jack about Milling machines.
However, I can forward this to my father, who has been setting up milling machines & machine tools for hte last 30 yrs.
Maybe he'd be able to show up & help with a class or something on a saturday.

@Bill - Its funny because I never have seen you and this CTHackerspace guy in the same room. I think you just solved that mystery! ;)

@Phil - Feel free to come on by when you see it on our calendar! I think we have a pretty good handle on the process of getting this machine back into service and we welcome those who want to learn. Furthermore we always welcome anyone that has a great deal of experience and practical knowledge, like your father, so that we all may learn some new tricks.

Regards,

Jeff
