Dear Cambridge Sports Union,

Hi, my name is Brian and I’m from the Spaulding National Running Center in Cambridge. I am reaching out regarding a new study we have ongoing involving running on a force measuring treadmill and testing foot muscle strength. We are recruiting runners between 18 and 60 years of age who run at least 10 miles per week and can run at a 10 minute per mile pace. Our only exclusion criteria are runners with a running related injury in the last 3 months.

Participants will be asked to run at 6 mph (10 min/mile) on a treadmill for about 5 minutes with accelerometers strapped to the ankles. Foot strength will be tested using a foot dynamometer to measure different muscles in the foot. Following data collection, participants will be asked to update their running activity and injury history every month over the next 12 months through an electronic questionnaire. The duration of the study should not exceed 1.5 hrs.

Participants will be compensated with Spaulding National Running Center technical shirt, a copy of their video/force running analysis, and a $50 amazon gift card following their participation.

Would it be possible to send a flyer for our research study around your club and to its members? Runners are also welcome to reach out to me or Jereme Outerleys (joute...@partners.org) for more information. You can also reach us by phone at: 617-758-5516.

Thank you for your time.

Best,
