On 01 July 2014, CONSIDER held an expert workshop in Brussels, Belgium, to gather feedback on the project’s draft recommendations and guidelines for the participation of Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) in research.

Following extensive analysis of our theoretical research and empirical studies, CONSIDER has identified the characteristics, influencing factors and best practice of CSO participation in research projects. This workshop gathered approximately 25 experts in three key stakeholder groups – CSOs, researchers and policy makers – to gain feedback for the further development of the guidelines and recommendations. The discussions focussed on the needs of stakeholders and the document’s presentation and dissemination.

Through peer-to-peer discussion, group analysis and workshop debate, the event sought to provide participants with an opportunity to voice their ideas, opinions and concerns on CSO participation in research. The draft recommendations and guidelines will now be developed in order to reflect the comments and produce the final proposal.

The full report from the event is available here and the draft guidelines and recommendations are available via this link. You can also check out all the photos from the event right here

http://www.seoexperts.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/haveyoursay.jpgAs always, we’d love to know what you think! If you have any comments/feedback/suggestions for how we can develop the guidelines and recommendations to best meet the needs of our stakeholders, don’t hesitate to get in touch.

ALL feedback is very welcome. As a starting point, you might find the following questions useful:

·         Do you agree with the guidelines and recommendations?

·         Does the document meet your needs?

·         Have we left anything out?

·         Do you like the presentation of the guidelines and recommendations?

·         How could CONSIDER’s work be linked to existing recommendations from other projects or publications?

If you have any queries, just let us know.

Thanks very much!

Best wishes,

Eleanor
