Dear Members,
CONSIDER recently gathered representatives from civil society, research, media and policy for an Open Forum in Lille to discuss their views on the participation of Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) in research.
The Open Forum empowers stakeholders as it provides participants with the opportunity to address the issues that are most important to them. An Open Forum has no pre-determined agenda just a theme, in this case the participation of CSOs in research. On the morning of the event, participants themselves outlined the topics that they were most passionate about related to the theme and invited others to work with them in discussion. Collaboratively, these topics then formed the basis of an agenda with specific workshops relating to the theme of the Open Forum.
Attached is CONSIDER’s report from the Forum which highlights the findings from the various workshops. The outcomes from the event will feed into the model of effective CSO participation that we are developing so we welcome any feedback or comments you may have on the report and its findings.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
Best wishes,
Eleanor
