Good day to all,

1st post didn't appear to go through.

I'm volunteering as a course marshal for the race on Sat.

Sounds like a great opportunity for CSNMBP to get a bit of exposure
and PR. I could wear my jersey and do a bit of advertising for the
group if that sounds good.

Ryan, what do you think? Also, do we have any Patrol info available
(flyers, etc)? If not, I can print out some info from the IMBA site to
have available.

Jim, I could do the same for Med Wheel. Do we have flyers for the
group at all?

Sounds like if we don't, maybe generating a small amount of marketing
material for both groups would be a good idea.

Anyone riding in the race?

Cheers,

Allen

Allen,

I'll be out of town and we don't have any current print material.  It would be a great idea to have some, we just need someone to put it together.

We do have a banner here in my garage.

Great idea!

I'm planning on racing and have 2 flyers that I was going to give to CS West Bikes but we can make copies of them for sat.

At a conference now but can email later.

Excellent.

Looking forward to Sat, having a few flyers would be great.

Let me know what works for you and I can make it happen.

Cheers,

Allen

Would you be able to scan or take a pic of the flyers? It would be
great to check them out

The Sand Creek race @Cheyenne Mtn SP was a complete success on Sat.
The race promoter hoped for 30-40 racers, looks like we had nearly
100!

The weather was absolutely gorgeous, you couldn't have asked for
better. Only two riders needed assistance by AMR for minor abrasions
and wound cleaning, tough course to say the least.

I was able to talk to about a dozen folks about the Patrol. One of the
volunteers took the info and she's all over signing up. After the
race, a guy came to the park to run and we ended up having a great
chat. Come to find out he's a cardiologist and has ~4 other Dr friend
who he believes would love to be a part of the group. We discussed the
potential for providing a bit of medical training/first aid
instruction and he seemed generally excited at the prospect.

I gave him the flyers that you provided Ryan so you hopefully should
be hearing from at least a few folks soon. Wish I had their names
handy but I just got back from a night singlespeed ride in Ute Valley,
I'm wiped!

Cheers,

Allen

Hey Allen,
Thanks for being over there and promoting the group over the weekend!
I wish I could have gone, but found out there was no easy way I could
have gotten out of this conference I was at. Sounds like it was a big
success though!

The medical/first aid training would be great, so hopefully we hear
from all the docs!

Thanks again,
Ryan

Ryan,

I know that for formal training, we'll have to most likely go through a certified source but I figured for additional education and basic first aid/trauma care, if the Dr's can provide a bit of instruction, we'd be even that much more prepared.

For the CPR/First Aid, I receive that training through work so I've been current for going on 14yrs. I'm sure that IMBA has suggestions or recommendations for which group we can get training through that will provide the needed certifications for patrollers.

Myself, I'd like to take one of the Wilderness First Aid courses that are available. Homework for the winter!

No problem on the PR for the patrol group. It's kind of "what I do" which is why I'm the Outreach guy for CSCC. In fact, ran into two mtn bikers in Ute last night and was able to hand out two more of the flyers for the patrol, they both seemed interested. In talking with them, they recommended sending out an info note to the homeowner associations/groups in the area's of the parks (Ute, Palmer, etc). That would get the target audience of folks who heaviliy utilize each trail network. I'm going to use that suggestion as well for the Springtime trail maintenance events.

Cheers,

Allen
