Welcome to the CSA Network UK GoogleGroup - this is YOUR mailing list.

You can send an email to the group and it will reach everyone signed
up to it, so use it respectfully but don't be afraid to share useful
knowledge, events, jobs, opportunities or questions with the group.
Think of it as a UK CSA support and information group which will (to
some degree) replace our newsletter and regional advisors.

You can also use the CSA Community UK Facebook page which is a more
public forum (www.facebook.com/CSACommunityUK) and the Soil
Association's regional CSA forums (www.soilassociation.org/csa/forum)
which are better for regional groups of CSA to discuss horticultural
questions or event planning.

We hope these tools are useful - please make sure any new groups you
learn of sign up to this group and the other networks so they can be
part of the movement.

best wishes,

The Soil Association CSA Team

Hi Bonnie and All CSAers ,

I am writing to you on behalf of our local Millennium Green (MG) here in Soulbury , Bucks .
MGs were conceived as community-owned breathing spaces for people and wildlife , and harvested by 240-odd pro-active communities across England around the beginning of the century .

There's a map showing all the Greens here
http://www.natureonthemap.naturalengland.org.uk/map.aspx
and some information about the projects elsewhere on the site , where , perhaps predictably , the initiative is hailed as a great success .
Although our efforts to research and network with other MGs are at an early stage , we have already found examples where the community management Trust structure has collapsed and the Green been adopted by local authorities and managed with few conspicuous benefits to wildlife .
Also , board moderators will be pleased to note , there is a new MGs wiki , so i won't be littering this message board with interminable posts ).
As some kind of permaculture designer , i felt that the concept of wildlife corridors was understressed and CSA as a potential underpinning to the sustainability of the projects was ignored , possibly to the detriment of many .

If you're in England , you might visit the nearest MG and see what's happening , even help us with our work by reporting your findings ;?)

Best wishes to All
