Dear postgraduate students,
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself.
My name is Ghadah Aldabbagh an assistant professor in the computer science department at the faculty of computing and information technology at KAU. My specialty is in communications engineering, we have recently embarked on several projects with Universities around the world working with top people in different disciplines. We are interested in jump starting research in the department and would like to include our Master's/PhD candidates to work with us on these projects to gain experience and learn from leaders in different fields. We managed to meet with some of you and would like to reach to as many students as possible.
What we are proposing is for Master's/PhD candidates
is an opportunity to work on already established projects between KAU and top Universities in the world. Where pieces of these projects could be taken for a Master's/PhD candidate to work on as her proposed research work towards her degree whether its Master's or PhD. In this framework, you aim to gain the following:
- From the beginning you will be working on a well defined proposal with clear specification, requirements and structure
- Will work with top scientist in the world in their fields
- Your work will be part of a huge project that will eventually be implemented or serve as an advancement of science in leading breakthrough areas
- Will work in groups where you will have the ability to work with people who will share your area of work or package which will simplify the research process opposed to working alone with no one to discuss your material with
- Being part of a group will enable you to
enhance your learning experience through getting involved with weekly seminars, lectures and discussions
All in all its a win win situation for all interested parties.
We suggest that we arrange a meeting with current faculty members who are involved in the aforementioned projects, they could introduce themselves and their projects if you are interested you can discuss it with them and start your work immediately. This should provide more options for you rather than have to choose from only the three work packages with the University of Essex. You now have more options to work in a wider range of fields (i.e. data mining, wireless networks, security, graphics and much more).
Although the students we are interested in are students in the stage of writing their proposal, we suggest that all Master's/PhD candidates should attend this meeting as these projects will continue insha Allah, we could prepare
from now to give courses that will provide the proper back ground needed to start working on such projects. We are also interested in students who earned their Master's degree to work as researcher assistants on these projects. As you can see, there is room for every one to work with us, so please make an effort and take part in this rare opportunity and make best use of it.
I urge you all to contact as many of your friends inform and encourage them to attend this meeting to help and aid in the development of research in the faculty and our county in as a whole.
Please, contact Ms. Budoor Bawazeer (
Budoor_...@yahoo.com) to register your name with her as an interested Master's/PhD candidate. We expect the meeting to take place sometime next week. More details pertaining to time and place will be provided once we find that we have a fair number of interested students.
Looking forward to working with you all to help erect the state of the Islamic nation to fulfill the purpose of our creation.
Best regards,
Ghadah Aldabbagh
