The Morgantown Police Department (MPD) is currently investigating reports of alleged sexual assaults on or near the rail trail. While no official criminal complaints have been filed yet, MPD is taking proactive steps to ensure public safety.

Increased patrols and officer presence in areas of concern.

If you have any information that could assist the investigation, please contact MPD at 304-599-6382.

For emergencies, always call 911.

Even Greater Forum on Facebook is useful (nice most of the time) for sharing things and you can get more info there then. For the time being, my completely unofficial recommendation is to ride Caperton and lower Deckers with someone and whatever self-defense items you carry.
