Four cyclists showed up for Sunday's Greene County ride - Joe, Tim, Jake, Kelly.
While starting out, up Shannon Run, we saw Jack and Frank at the bakery, they had already completed their ride.
We went the usual way up Shannon, to Claughton Chapel, then onto the intersection with Rudolph Run road. Since everyone was tired of the only loop that I know, we decided to go down Rudolph Run. It was a great 3 mile descent, but I kept seeing signs that said
Road Closed 1 mile ahead. Then half a mile ahead. Then 1000 feet ahead. I was worried that we would have to climb back up that hill. Luckily, when we got there, they had been replacing a short bridge, so we were able to walk through the equipment, and continue
to ride. We made a left onto Church Run Road, climbed back up Little Shannon Road, which took us back to Big Shannon, and then to the bakery.
Thanks to Tim for suggesting this route, we had very nice fall colors all along the route.
Note: they have paved parts of Big Shannon and Little Shannon, so the road was in great shape.
I had 23 miles, with 1600 feet of climb. Kelly
