Hello everyone,

STARTING TODAY (July 1) and continuing to July 11, trail work with big equipment is happening on the Deckers Creek Rail-Trail from Little Greer crossing (mile 9.4) to Masontown Trailhead (mile 13.5), approximately 4 miles.  Trail will remain OPEN but make sure equipment operator sees you before you enter the work area.

The Mon River/ Caperton Rail-Trail is entirely open.  We had to do a crazy shift due to federal grant award schedule and prep needed to get Deckers ready for more resurfacing.  The stretch north of Star City will be worked on again in late summer.

Latest announcement has been posted if you want to share it.  Happy July, Ella

Hey Trail Friends,

Please be aware and share our social media

TODAY-July 10, work on trail drainage will be happening on the Mon River Rail-Trail from mile marker 3 (north of Van Voorhis) to approximately mile 6, ending at the paved surface at Town of Star City. TRAIL CLOSED between Star City pavement and Collins Ferry Connector (about 1.5 miles). Keep following social media for updates.  Thank you for understanding as we keep you and workers safe.

This work is happening for 3 miles but they will try to keep closed sections down to a mile or so or around the access points.  We eventually will be resurfacing this 3-mile section with compacted stone.  Ella
