The Senior
Systems Administrator will maintain and upkeep various applications and
systems. They will install, support and manage servers and resolve
issues as needed. They are also responsible for installing patches and
performing system backups and recovery. The Senior Systems
Administrator will monitor system configuration and resolve issues with all
systems based upon client/user needs.
Duties:
- Providing technical support to various applications/systems
- Meeting with customer representatives to coordinate
application/systems installations and training administrators as needed
per project
- Coordinating assigned service requests to meet requested
department dates within established department standards
- Communicating effectively, both orally and in written form,
technical information with a wide variety of individuals and groups
- Designing, analyzing and implementing application/system
equipment and designing cost effective system configuration that meet
the users' needs
- Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships
with end users, vendors and managers
- Identifying and resolving hardware and software problems
- Defining user needs and recommending alternatives
- Working on training and knowledge transfer to internal team
members
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or
equivalent experience/training preferred
- 5-7 years experience in System Administration
- Experience with Linux Administration and Windows
