Position: Solaris Admin
Location: Minneapolis, MN.
Duration :is 6-18 months
Looking for Sr. people with 7+ years exp.
Must have strong current Solaris exp.
They had not been seeing people with strong enough Solaris admin exp and some of the other required skills.
Our Information Technology team has several senior-level openings to maintain and administer operating system instances and/or storage management systems for one or more of the following platforms: Sun Solaris/Linux Operating Systems.
Responsibilities include:
· Provide 24 by 7 on-call administration and support for one or more of the applications listed above. Work with business areas and IT developers to troubleshoot and resolve daytime and after-hours support issues in a timely manner as described in IT and business area service level agreements. Facilitate and implement environmental and application changes according to local and national processes and procedures
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience; coursework in MIS and/or advanced Solaris or Red Hat Linux certification is highly desired.
6 years experience supporting and administering Sun Solaris or Red Hat Linux to include the following:
· Experience writing technical documentation.
· Experience training and mentoring junior team members.
· Experience managing technical projects
· Excellent oral and written communication skills
Strong preference for candidates with significant experience in any of the following areas:
· Installing, configuring, and managing Siebel CRM on Sun Solaris
· Experience managing VMware Infrastructure
· Experience installing and configuring Sun Solaris LDOMs
· Experience with security hardening Sun Solaris and/or Red Hat Linux
· ITIL Certification
