CPS Deputy General Secretary Cde Mcolisi Ngcamphalala court appearance

Deputy General Secretary Comrade Mcolisi Ngcamphalala who is also Swaziland National Association of Teachers (SNAT) Deputy Secretary General, today appeared at the Mbabane Magistrates’ Court together with SNAT President Mbongwa Dlamini. The two were charged for contravening the public order act in 2016. They were alleged to have blocked public transport in a teacher's protest march as part of teachers protests against exploitation.

The case died because there was no basis for the charges. It is only now that Mswati’s new prime minister is in a desperate campaign of purging out public service officers, trade unionists who he feels are undermining his mission to control unions and make them submit to the crisis ridden Mswati dictatorship which he is captain.

Such attempts by the regime to destroy unions are not new, the only new thing is the new broom Russell Dlamini who ignorantly believes he will win this battle of killing unions in the country.

What motivates Russell to revive the case is the backing from Taiwan Administration Colonial motives in our country, in which Russell is well workshopped by Taipei to canvas the colonial ambitions.

The CPS calls for a comprehensive rejection of Russell's obsession and the total rejection of the system which Russell claims he can drive. A nationwide campaign to defend workers’ unions from tinkhundla onslaught is necessary and international solidarity to end the system of oppression in Swaziland.

We are closely monitoring the escalation of tinkhundla offensive against human rights activists, media freedom activists and underground political activists by the Mswati regime which Russell and his political cohorts are hell-bent to execute using criminal tactics and the dangers it imposes.

We should not fold our arms and watch when the regime desperately galvanizes effort to keep the hated system and criminal regime of Mswati enjoying backing from imperialism and fascist formations of mercenaries and economic syndicates helping the ruling class in Swaziland to drain the wealth and resources of our country for their selfish accumulation.
