FACS Program Director Update & Adopt a Soldier

Dear FACS Teachers-
I hope that you all had a good holiday season and are ready to start your new semester with your students. My husband and I welcomed our 2nd baby boy, Beauden James, into our family on Dec. 21, 2012. I will be on maternity leave until March, but I do check my work email every day. While I am away, Jen Girvin, HOSA State Adviser (FACS grad from Purdue) will be working on all program approvals; Rob Van Dyke has now come on board at CCCS full time and will be handling all FCCLA related items, and Scott Stump will be able to answer all other FACS related questions. Below are email addresses for each person above.
I also heard from my friend Scot Somes, US Navy Officer, who was in Afghanistan. He and the other men/women he was deployed with were all sent home at the end of December! I’m sure it was a great gift for all of their families. I know many of you were still collecting gifts for the soldiers in Afghanistan, so I made contact with another officer that Scot recommended. He was really excited to hear that teachers/students were willing to “adopt” a unit/soldier and supplied the two addresses below. Please feel free to send packages of supplies to the soldiers—they are loving what they have received so far.
