Hello
We would like to update COBNJ members of the following developments:

1. The Citizens Police Academy has started on December 2th at Old
Bridge. There are several COB members amongst the 55 who have
registered. This program is a direct result of our many meeting with
the Mayor and the Middlesex County Prosecutor to enhance the safety
and security of our neighborhoods.

2. We have received an invite from Senator Robert Menendez to a
meeting on Dec 19th (details below). If you have any suggestions as it
relates to COB or our Neighborhood Watch program, please do let us
know by the 18th.

3. The Neighborhood Watch Program has been temporarily suspended
during winter due to the weather conditions. We will restart the
program in Spring 2011. During this period we request that members
keep a watchful eye and report any suspicious activities to the Old
Bridge police at 732-721-4000.

4. We have been monitoring the progress of the Sinha case. We are
working closely with the Indo-American Defense League (IADL) and
SAALT to connect the Sinha family with legal experts who are provide
them with proper guidance.

Wishing you and your loved ones a Happy and Health Holiday Season and
Happy New Year.
Regards

On behalf of Senator Robert Menendez, I am pleased to invite you to
represent Citizens of Old Bridge and join the Senator for “A
Conversation with the South Asian American Community” on Sunday,
December 19th at 3:30pm hosted in the home of Dr. Khyati Y. Joshi and
John W. Bartlett, Esq. (1 Thorn Hill, Wayne, NJ 07470).

Recently, we have experienced celebrations of the South Asian American
community’s culture and vibrancy; however, unfortunately, we have also
experienced attacks against the community’s growth and prosperity in
New Jersey. We recognize the need to discuss how government and
community leaders can work together to build on the accomplishments
and to extend paths of communication to tackle the challenges.

Senator Menendez would like to begin that conversation with you on
December 19th. We ask that all guests arrive promptly by 3:30pm.

Please note that this is a small gathering, we can only extend an
invitation to one leader per organization.

If you are interested in attending, please RSVP by December 10, 2010.
Additionally, to help focus the discussion, in your RSVP please
include some specific concerns or questions on behalf of your
community in New Jersey that you would like to address.

Thank you for your commitment and we look forward to seeing you on
December19th.

Sincerely,

Francesca Larson

Community Affairs Coordinator
Office of Senator Robert Menendez (D-NJ)
