The future (which looks to be now) of social / informal learning is
mobile. I have heard this said several times and several ways over the
past few months. Its hard to argue with as the market is flooded with
technology such as iPads, Netbooks, Tablets, and smartphone all
designed with mobility in mind.
I was fortunate to see Judy Brown, an authority on mlearning present
at TK10 (ASTD Tech Knowledge) conference in Las Vegas earlier this
year. This link takes you to an easy to peruse PDF which highlights
many of Judy's key points:

- What are your uses of mobile technology?
- How are you defining mobile?
- How will this all impact your own professional learning or if you
are in the business of creating or managing instruction how are you
preparing for mobile?
