Yes. I've been monitoring the weather closely, and rain seems imminent :-(

If it's a niceish day on Sabbath, we are still a go. If not, we have a plan B. Joanna has graciously offered get home for lunch, bible games and a hike if the weather permits. The menu remains the same ;-)

Since the weather is supposed to be beautiful this Sabbath, some of our group members thought it would be nice to have a picnic and light hike after church at Great Falls. So if you are free and/or would like to hang out after church, let's get together!

I was thinking to have a very simple menu: veggie hot-dogs :) We can all bring an item to complete the meal. Below I'll include a list of things to bring. If you would like to join us and bring one of those items, please let me know so I can make sure we have all we need and won't go hungry.

Those who want to can carpool from Spencerville Church (we can talk about it after Sabbath School), and those who are coming from a different church can just meet us at the park. Let me know if you are coming so we can wait for you and/or look for you at church (in case you don't make SS)--and to make sure we all find the place. You can email me, FB me or text/call me. Most of you have my #, but just in case it's 240-498-9013. Right below the "Menu Items", I've included the address, directions and a map so you can see exactly where the picnic area is. That's where we will be. Make sure to write down my number in case you can't find the place! :) Contact me in the above mentioned ways if you have any questions!! :D (you can even send me a letter by mail if you wish :P )

Don't forget to bring a change of clothes if you want to be more comfortable! :)

Menu Items

Hot dog buns, veggie hot dogs (any brand/type), sliced cheese, tomatoes, mayonnaise, ketchup, chips (any type), drinks (any juice/soda/water), dessert (any type), corn? (maybe we can grill some), a side dish (anything you can think of) --that's the core. You can bring anything else you'd like: fruits, salads, beans, ingredients you like that I didn't add to the list, etc.

From the Beltway (I-495):

Take exit 44 for Route 193, Georgetown Pike.

At the top of the exit ramp, there is a traffic light. If you are exiting from I-495 South, coming from Maryland and the George Washington Memorial Parkway, take a right at the light onto Route 193 West. If you are coming from I-495 North (the Inner Loop) from points south or I-66, you will take a left at the traffic light onto Route 193 West. About three miles down the road, you will come to another traffic light at the intersection of Old Dominion Dr. At the traffic light, you will see a sign for the park. Make a right at the light. Old Dominion Drive will dead end at our entrance station, about one mile down the road.
