Dear Citizen Action Leaders,

Since online donating has become such an integral part of non-profit
fundraising, Open Space Institute is now providing the opportunity for
donors to give to Citizen Action groups via OSI’s website. The process
is simple and will be helpful for those groups who do not have a
website, groups who are not signed up with an online donation site or
those groups who want to give their supporters more donating options.

A donor is able to give to a Citizen Action group via OSI’s website
by:
1. Going to www.osiny.org
2. Clicking the “Donate” button on the left hand side of the main page
3. Choosing the gift amount
4. TYPING THE GROUP NAME IN THE BOX that reads “If you are making a
gift to a Citizen Action Group, write in the name.”
5. Filling in billing information.
6. Filling in Credit Card information.
7. Clicking “Process” to complete the donation.

An automatic confirmation will be sent to the donor with a transaction
summary, as well as an automated thank you note from our CEO and
President of OSI. The note will include the name of the group that the
donor gifted. The donor will also get an E-mail along with an
abbreviated transaction summary of the donation. OSI will not be
providing another contribution acknowledgment letter, as the
automatically generated receipt suffices for IRS purposes.

A bi-weekly report provided by OSI’s webmaster will enable the Citizen
Action team to notify all group leaders and treasurers when a donation
has come in, as well as providing all pertinent donor information.
There is a 3% credit card fee from Convio, OSI’s onlilne donation
service, for each transaction.
