Hey all,

I wanted to put a few things on your radar that are happening soon. One is a reminder that tc sent out last month but you may have seen some yard signs pop up recently near Glenn about the Glenn St Safety and Walkability project. It’s a project along Glenn from Oracle to Alvernon to include:

  • new and repaired sidewalk,
  • street lighting,
  • landscaping to improve the walking experience,
  • roadway repaving and safety enhancements from Cherry to Alvernon.

To learn more about and to provide your experiences and feedback, please try to make it out to the events below or check out the project website linked here.
  • Saturday Jan. 11th 10am – 12pm @ La Madera Park | 2700 E. La Madera Dr. – Free Pastries!
  • Thursday Jan. 16th 5pm – 7pm @ Ward 3 Office | 1510 E. Grant Rd. – Free Hot Dogs!

ALSO… another Tucson Delivers: Parks and Connections project is funding improvements to nearby La Madera Park, 2700 E La Madera Dr. The park will soon receive improvements including a new splash pad, walking path, and irrigation. The splash pad will have a shade structure over it. No trees will be removed to accommodate the splash pad.

Join Parks and Rec staff at La Madera Park on Saturday, Jan. 18, 9-11 a.m., to review and provide feedback on the design concepts for a new splash pad and walking path.
A survey is coming soon for feedback on these improvements. For more information visit https://tucsonparks.info/lamaderapark
Thanks, y’all!

Thanks Ben. Also note that within a day of submitting a report on the Water street encampment the City team was out there. Our short term residents are gone and much of the trash has been picked up. If you have a chance please let the Ward 3 office know what a good job the City team has done.

I was planning to go to the Glenn St. forum on Jan 11, and will report out any interesting developments.
