Harvard University is beginning a Synthetic Life research project within the Harvard Origins of Life Initiative and the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences under the direction of Dr. Juan  Perez-Mercader. At this time we are seeking interested candidates for a number of Research Associate and Postdoctoral positions in the areas of the Origins of Life, Chemoinformatics and the Intersection of Biology with Physics and Information Science. The Research Associate positions will be for at least 3 years with continuation contingent upon strong performance. Each of the Postdoctoral positions is awarded for one year with an option to renew for a second year dependent upon strong performance.

Individuals interested in Synthetic Life and with a demonstrated record of excellence in work related with (1) Chemoinformatics and Molecular Design, (2) Chemical Engineering in Microfluidic Environments, (3) Quantum Chemistry and Chemical Montecarlo Methods, (4) Computer Simulation of Partial Differential Equations in Noisy Environments, (5) Noise Induced Transitions, Dynamical Renormalization Group, Self-organizing Networks, (6) Experimental and Phenomenological Study of Reaction/Diffusion Equations and (7) Information in Living Systems, are invited to apply electronically by emailing a curriculum vitae, three letters of recommendation,  and a short (limited to one page) statement of his or her scientific interests to Ms. Ganna Sovastyanova  <sav...@fas.harvard.edu> by April 22, 2011 or until filled.
