Change in Leadership
I will be retiring from TWU on August 31, 2025 after 35 years. The past ten years I served as the founding executive director of the Woodcock Institute and prior to that I was a full professor and department chair of Psychology and Philosophy. I have been honored to help preserve Dr. Woodcock’s legacy over the past ten years. I look forward to new challenges in my “semi-retirement”. I am busy writing my next book with some colleagues and I have started a software company for a report writer assistant.
I am pleased to announce that Dr. Wendi Johnson will assume the duties of the Executive Director of the Woodcock Institute on September 1, 2025. Dr. Johnson comes to us from the TWU School of Social Work, Psychology, and Philosophy where she was an Associate Professor, member of the Core School Psychology faculty, and Practicum & Internship Coordinator. She is a Licensed Psychologist and Licensed Specialist in School Psychology in Texas. Please welcome her to her new position. She will do a great job continuing to preserve Dr. Woodcock’s legacy.
Grant Opportunities
A reminder that the Woodcock Institute has a variety of research grants available to both faculty and doctoral students. Please visit www.twu.edu/woodcock-institute/ for the grant requirements. The next submission deadline for $20,000 faculty research grants is October 1st.
Good luck in your future endeavors. It is a challenging time to be in higher education but training the next generation of school psychologist practitioners is a noble endeavor.
