Hi Folks,
Got a great idea that needs some time and financial support to take off? Wondering what to do this summer and not looking forward to another dead-end summer job? Wish you could get paid to keep doing climate activism?
I wanted to send out a reminder (or a first announcement for some of you) that deadlines for two great opportunities to win some cash to support your great ideas for activism are approaching:
-The first is Focus the Nation and CliffBar Mojo's "
Project Slingshot," which is
offering three $10,000 grants to support students and young people in three different categories: 1) "Outdoor Fanatics" - how will you protect the places you love to play?; 2) Artists - how will you inspire your communities?; and 3) Innovators - how will you challenge expectations?
DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS: March 15th. Go here for more:

-The second is the
Breakthrough Generation's Fellowship Program, which will
support up to 10 fellows with $5,000 grants to support their "intellectual activism." BT Generation is the new youth initiative of Ted Nordhaus and Michael Shellenberger's Breakthrough Institute (the authors of "The Death of Environmentalism") and is working to develop a youth "think-and-do tank." Fellows will engage in intellectual "think tank" kind of work while also pursuing innovative and concrete activism and projects and will help bridge the sometimes prevalent gulf between uninformed activism and inactive "ivory tower" intellectualism. Interested?
The DEADLINE TO APPLY: March 21st. Head here for more:

Cheers,
Jesse Jenkins
