CBMFFL 2024: Week 12 Recap

Hi all,

As we reach Thanksgiving, I think of many things for which I am thankful... and many others for which I am not.

I am thankful for being able to trade for a capable quarterback like Brock Purdy. I am not thankful for him proceeding to immediately get hurt.

I am thankful for being able to trade Justin Jefferson before the season to get some value out of him since I kept Christian McCaffrey instead. I am not thankful for McCaffrey having played a whopping three games since then. I am also not thankful for Jefferson being the #4 WR in fantasy football with only two weeks below 14 points.

Come to think of it, I am not thankful for trades. At all. In any capacity. Not even carpentry.

I am thankful for Saquon Barkley escaping the Mad Max-esque wasteland that is the New York Giants. I am not thankful that he single-handedly beat my team this week with 46.2 fantasy points.

I am thankful the Steelers are decent. I am not thankful that our offense rivals that of my pee wee team.

I am thankful for our league having seven teams fighting for four playoff spots with two weeks to go. I am not thankful that it is likely only one of me and my wife will make the playoffs. I want a 2/6 chance at the prize; 1/6 is boring.

I am thankful for 16 NFL games this weekend. I am not thankful for the fact that I need 87 different streaming services to watch them.

I am thankful that this league has survived into what is its 16th season and for all you crazy kids. I am not thankful for Ursula from The Little Mermaid. She was kind of a bitch.

I didn't like Ursula as a kid, but as an adult I came to realize that king Triton is also villian... Ariel signed a contract and broke it. Yes, maybe she wasn't of legal age for it to be binding. In principle of things, not good to teach kids that you can just ignore a contract.

Well I asked my Magic 8-Ball, “Who’s the bigger perv, Ursula for manipulating a child or Matt Dalius for supporting her?”, and the response I got was, “All signs point to yes.”

My only conclusion is that Ursula was the original P Diddy, she hosted underwater freak-offs with Flotsam and Jetsam, and Matt was her original target for lead singer in Danity Kane.
