Human Rights Defenders Series presents:
Hacienda las Pavas: Challenges in Land Restitution in Colombia
Join Etny Torres Moreno a peasant leader leading an initiative seeking to obtain a land title for the Hacienda las Pavas, from which peasant families were forcibly displaced by paramilitary groups, and Jorge Eliecer Reales Maza a human rights lawyer with Corporacion SEMBRAR working on legal actions geared towards guaranteeing peasant and Afro descendent communities the right to remain in their collective territories in Bolivia.

Impunity in Guatemala
Helen Mack has a long history fighting for human rights and rule of law in Guatemala. When her sister was assassinated in 1990, Helen embarked on a quest for justice that would lead her to be one of the most influential human rights defenders and leading voices on citizen security issues in the region. She founded the Myrna Mack Foundation in 1993 and has since held several leadership positions to promote justice in the country.
